What a week! We’ve had a company photoshoot for our website, signed a deal with a new exciting business partner, and attended the Gatwick Diamond Business Awards as finalists in the “New Business of the Year” category.
The awards, held at The Grand, Brighton on 17th March, were strongly supported by the Gatwick Diamond business community including the headline sponsors - Elekta Ltd, Extech Cloud, First Central Insurance & Technology Group, NatWest and Thakeham Group.
The awards celebrated the achievements of individual businesses and business people across a wide range of categories.
Russell Kane compared on the night and we were felt extremely honoured to hear our company name read out when he announced the winner of the award.
Unfortunately, we didn’t win but were told by our Sponsors, the University of Sussex Business School that as finalists, we had been up against many other entries and some tough competition.
As a business owner, in the early stages of running Longwood Business Support, I felt that it was good to stop this week to reflect and recognise how much, as a team, we’ve achieved to date and how far we’ve come.
We started out with just myself and a vision to provide Business Support and Accountancy Services. Working from my kitchen dining room table to start with and only being able to forecast a few months ahead at a time, we are now a team of 5, offering HR services in addition to Accountancy and Business Support and are partnering with some major local business partners.
We've built some great relationships with our customers and we do see ourselves as cheerleaders for their businesses and not just an outsourced business partner.
The photoshoot was interesting as none of us really like being in photos! Naturally, as a support team, we are used to quietly getting on with things in the background, so we really had to get outside of our comfort zones this week. Luckily, we had the help of a local photographer, Barry Holder Photography and in his capable hands we had a great day and all felt at ease!
There are quite a few photos that won't make the cut but they show how much we enjoy working together which for me is really important.
We've come a long way in 18 months and I always say it, but without my fantastic team, I wouldn’t want to do what I do. So, thank you to you all for your never-ending loyalty, commitment, smiley faces, and passion. You all rock!
Here’s to more of the same! Thank you Longwood Team!
